I truly enjoyed working with you all and I was so pleased to be included in this small part of the medical community. I thought your essays and comments were interesting, useful and insightful, and I admire and appreciate the generosity that each and every one of you displayed by taking time from your busy schedules to think about and write up your opinions, experiences and discoveries to share with others. <BR/><BR/>The kindness that you showed me because (despite?) of my illness was truly heartwarming. I hope that when I am in need of a doctor that one of you will be there to minister to me because, as Sue Pelletier alluded to in her article, the patient-doctor relationship often has a greater impact on patient care than what’s available in a physician’s medicine chest. This is so true. People, like plants and animals, respond so astonishingly well to a just a little kindness, humor and caring. This issue of Grand Rounds, as flawed as it was, was my gift to you. Thanks.<BR/><BR/>Due to illness, I was out of commission yesterday, the day that the Grand Rounds was published, and I unable to do much of anything at all.
